The rules From Ashes writes by: how claims get verified, when we disclose a commercial relationship, how we correct mistakes, and what we refuse to publish.

Every factual claim is attributable

Prices, timescales, quantities and legal requirements are traced to a named provider, regulator or published source. Where we could not verify something, the page says so rather than rounding the uncertainty away.

Commercial relationships are disclosed on the page

Spogad is our partner brand. We may earn from orders placed through us. Every placement is labelled where it appears — not only in a policy page like this one. A reader should never discover our incentives after acting on our advice.

Coverage is not for sale

No provider can buy a mention, a ranking or a favourable comparison. We write about processes our partner does not offer, and we name competitors where they are the better fit.

No urgency, ever

Cremated remains are stable and keep indefinitely. Any page that pressures a grieving reader to decide quickly is manipulating them. We do not write those, and we flag providers who do.

Testimonials are real or absent

We publish customer experiences only with that customer's permission, unedited beyond length and spelling. We do not compose illustrative reviews.

Mistakes are corrected visibly

When we get something wrong, we fix the page and note what changed and when. Silent edits to a factual claim are not a correction, they are a cover-up.

We are not funeral directors, lawyers or doctors

From Ashes is editorial research. It is not legal, medical or financial advice, and it does not replace a conversation with a funeral director or a regulator in your country.
